Welcome to The Red Lion Inn

The Red Lion is located in the heart of West Boldon with a good selection of real ales, bottled beers and lagers. The Red Lion is not only well known for its good beer but has an enviable reputation for its high quality food.

We would like to thank everybody who joined us over the festive period. We certainly had some memorable times. As the New Year is now upon us, we have made some changes to all of our menus. The standard menus are fully updated and viewable on our pdf page. Our Steak and Pie night menus will be joining them soon. We have also released our Valentines menu and are taking bookings, so get in fast.

A friendly atmosphere along with a wide selection of drinks makes the Red Lion an enjoyable experience for all. During the summer come along and relax on our West facing decking area which is packed with colour from the flowers that are carefully looked after all year round.

We are pleased to announce that in the Northumbria in Bloom Awards 2011 we were awarded a gold award for the second year runnng. This was awarded  for the best effort for the upkeep of external premises, public houses and hotels.

Its not just luck that our restaurant has a fantastic reputation. Some of the best Chef's in the area work here, well known in there own right to keep the food top quality. The friendly team who make up the workforce are second to none.  From a lunchtime sandwich to a celebratory meal,  the Red Lion Inn offers a level of cuisine as creative as it is pleasing.  Delicious produce from local suppliers from the land and the sea.
In  the restaurant. guests are treated to fine food and wine served in a relaxed atmosphere by a skilled and knowledgeable team dedicated to quality.

 Bar Area

Behind the bar and in the restaurant you will find a wide range of wines, beers, champagne and fine ales. In addition we have a wide selection of whisky and various other drinks to suit the occasion.

Restaurant

Our conservatory which houses part of the restaurant faces West, where you can enjoy an evening meal whilst watching the sun go down.
Conservatory

Summer is almost upon us, and what better way to enjoy the sunlight, than from inside our conservatory.

Several evening customers have commented on how nice and it is to be sat in the conservatory having dinner while catching the last few rays of sunshine, away from the night chill
The Snug

Tucked away with its own bar area  and away from the restaurant  is a "chill out " meeting place frequented by  local customers and those that pass us on the way home from work.

Join us for a game of dominoes, to catch up on the days news or simply just for a chat.

A good way to end the day before you continue on your journey home.
